The Beauty of Christmas Snow

Welcome to another day of snow cards.  I am Patricia, and I am here to deliver to you, "The beauty of Christmas snow.
The Beauty of Christmas Snow
I hate driving in the snow.  snow is meant for horse-drawn carriages on the way to a relative's or friend's house.  When you get there, the fireplace is lit with the fresh smell of snow, hickory, pine, and sugar cookies.  OK, enough Norman Rockwell, but that was how Christmas was celebrated in the 1800's.  I am much, much , much too young to know about that scene.  I grew up in the 1970's and well my favorite doll was one who walk and danced, and her name was Swingy, but I renamed her Carol.
You can learn all about about Carol, my swinging doll on my blog, MDN Creates, as you learn how I made today's card, The Beauty of Christmas snow.  It is easy, as all of the cards I presented on Card-a-Day.  This is a bitter sweet post as I am leaving you after today.   I have had the most wonderful time on this blog, and showing you the easy, inexpensive side of card making.  Don't let that stop you from visiting my blog though, because I will still be making cards.  You all have a wonderful and joyous Christmas, and a happy, happy 2013.

A Gift of Snow

It's hard to believe, but we have only three more days before our year-end break.  Many thanks to all of you who have been with us throughout the year.  I am happy to be bringing you an inspiration for our "Snow" theme.  I'm taking it just a bit out of the mold of our usual cards to bring you something very appropriate for this season of giving.  Here's a peak:

Creative Genie-ous is where you will find the details and more pictures of this card.  I hope you have a chance to visit.

We'll be continuing our challenges in the new year, so be prepared to come and play along with us.  In the meantime, have a very Merry Christmas and a blessed holiday season.

Big hugs,
Christine

Snow Globe Card

Welcome Card Makers!
Today it is cold in Texas. By cold I mean in the 40's. That's winter for us. For me that is cold enough. Today I had a Hat, Gloves and a Heavy Coat. I felt like there should have been snow on the ground  LOL Of course there was nothing but Sun Shine and a Cold Wind.

I have a snow globe card I make each year about this time. I love snow Globes. They are so adorable. This one is no exception.

I used the cartridge Joys of the Seasons. This is a great cart. I used the snow globe on page 50. I cut the globe at 6 inches. I cut the globe twice. Once in light blue card stock.  Then  once in acetate.  I layered the two together. The snow flakes are also on this cart.

I hope you make this fun holiday card. I always enjoy making it.
Thank you so much for stopping by. Please come back tomorrow and see another wonderful card from Christine. She will have another fun holiday card for you.

Today is my last day to be a designer on this wonderful blog. I want to thank  everyone who came by my blog, each time I posted here. I have had the best time designing here on the CAD blog. Thank you, Thank You!!!!  Your always welcome  to stop by my blog and say hello anytime!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

New Year's Party

Alot of the time, my Mother In Law has a New Year's Party, it is a lot of fun. This card would be the perfect invite for her New Year's Party. My husband's family is the dancing-est group of people. I have never heard the song "we are family" so many times at family functions. My MIL wanted to clean out the dining room at Thanksgiving so the kids would have room to dance. It didn't happen this year, but it is an indicator that next year it might be on the list of ideas.

This card was created by Esther and as always she does it with style. She used two of my files to create it. For me... this is a New Year's Party. :-) so fun!

Thank you Esther as always love to see your inspiration!
For more of Esther's Details on how she made the card you can visit my blog.
Enjoy!
Chris

Tomorrow's inspiration comes from Terri Wright! Can't wait to see what she comes up with.

Thanks for the Joy

It's my turn to round out the week.  I wanted to make a really special Holiday Thank you, while at the same time keeping with my 'tradition' of using up scraps.  And I have loads of scraps after helping a troop of Girl Scouts make cards and bookmarks and rosettes to sell at a craft fair recently.  So, without further ado, here is my inspiration for you:

If you would like some info on how I put this one together, just visit me at Creative Genie-ous.  You'll get a few more photos of the card front as well as a view of the inside with my own sentiment.

Thanks for stopping by today.  Get your new week started out right with an inspiration tomorrow from designer Lucy Kelleher.

Big HUGS,
Christine Patton
